New year, new Fox & Moon 2019 planner
Posted on September 26 2018
What’s the BEST thing about a new year? The new diary you can start of course! Who else gets deliriously happy each time they start a new journal or diary for the first time? Cracking open those pristine pages and putting your favourite pen to good use just feels SO good!
Every new year calls for a new diary and at Fox & Moon I’ve been working hard to design a gorgeous 2019 planner that will help you keep on track with your life admin for an entire 12 months!
The focus of the 2019 diary is to organise your days, weeks and months ahead - just like a year planner. There is more focus on overall wellbeing and goal setting, so that even if you are slimming or not, you can use this diary to plan out your year.
What’s so good about a diary?
If you’re new to keeping a diary - seriously, where have you been? - or a seasoned pro like me, here are some mega benefits to owning (and using!) a planner...
Writing in a daily diary and planning out your days and month ahead helps you to feel a lot more organised. You don’t have to worry about missing a dentist appointment, double booking yourself or forgetting a birthday if it’s all written down.
For me, dumping the contents of my head onto paper and ticking off lists as I go is the best way to make sure I get things done - and the new planner will have plenty of space to write down your daily reminders.
Remember your why
We’ve all been there where we’ve set ourselves a big list of goals and not achieved a single one of them. You’ve got to be be honest with yourself about your ‘why’: why do you want to do X, Y or Z?
- What’s in it for you?
- What’s the motivation?
- Does it make your heart sing and enrich your life in some way?
If the answer is no, then it’s highly unlikely that you’ll even start! The 2019 diary has space for reflection every month where you can write down your aims for the month and keep a reminder of the things that make you happy - your whys.
Be kind on yourself
I’m a dreadful one for expectations - I either have very high ones and get stressy when things don’t work out, or I couldn’t give two hoots either way.
Having a clear expectation on the way you want to feel, life your life and the things you want to achieve are great for motivation. As I mentioned above, feeling purposeful is great because you actually get stuff done!
However, remember your ‘why’ is the motivation behind everything you do, and if your expectations don’t match up with your why and you put too much pressure on yourself to succeed then you will only end up making yourself feel like a failure.
Checking in regularly with your diary helps you to make tweaks when you are piling too much on your plate. If it’s not working, ditch it and try something else.
Keeping a diary is good for you
One of my first posts on the blog was in celebration of National Notebook Day, where I mentioned how a diary had changed my life (the very first Fox & Moon diary!)
In this post I shared 5 reasons why journaling is good for your wellbeing:
- Manage stress and negative emotions
- Be more productive
- What you write, you achieve
- Make time for gratitude every day
- Helps you to be more critical (but in a good way).
Even when life feels like a whirlwind, keeping your diary gives you that time out each day to focus on you. That me-time is super key to help you feel happy, energised and organised.
So, I’m keen to know - what’s the best thing about your daily diary for you? Are you lost without your yearly diary?
Let me know - I’d love to hear!
